The New Service Economy: Gaining Advantage in a Digital World

In the increasingly digital world, the rapid growth and diversity of SaaS applications and business processes offered as a service are helping enterprises not only to create new business models, but also reach new customer segments and markets in near-real time. This addresses the capability, cost, and agility equation but also creates a second order of challenges in manageability and integration. Consequently, the role of the CIO is increasingly becoming mainstream and more critical. The 'I' within the word CIO now stands for integration, insight, information security, and internet.

Abidali Neemuchwala, group president and chief operating officer, will highlight how Wipro, as an early investor and adopter of the as-a-service paradigm, is in the process of transforming itself from being an integrator of systems to an integrator of services—delivering end-to-end business processes with actionable insights—by leveraging the most comprehensive and integrated suite of Oracle solution stacks.

Abid Ali Neemuchwala's career spans a tenure of more than 23 years at TCS, where in his last role he headed the Business Process Services business. He was awarded the BPO CEO of the Year 2010, and in 2012 he was recognized by the Shared Services Organization of IPQC for his personal contribution to the industry.

With rich experience in business and technology operations, process, and consulting, Neemuchwala is also a Certified Software Quality Analyst and a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He holds an electronics and communication engineering degree from NIT, Raipur and has a Master's degree in industrial management from IIT Mumbai.
